Thanks to all who supported the Help for Heroes charity concert at Eastwood school last Saturday. The event was a huge success, raising over £2000 for a very worthy cause.
Counillor David Stanley entertained a sell-out crowd with a spellbinding performance on the custom-built Quantum™ T321Q three-manual Allen theatre organ. Eastwood’s head of music, Liam Ambrose provided percussion while your’s truly handled the on-screen supporting visuals for the show. What a great night!
Next on councillor Stanley’s hectic fundraising agenda is a 24-hour music marathon in aid of Southend Mencap. This is set to take place on 21st-22nd April and will feature an unbroken performance spanning a full 24 hours; all on the end of the world’s longest pleasure pier!
Please come along to show your support and donate anything you can spare for this worthy local charity. I’ll be there covering the event for my current documentary tracing the phenomenal successes of Southend Mencap Music School so if you spot me, do say hello!
