Offshore Film from Longest Pier

The final days of summer may have rolled around all-too quickly, but there’s still time for one last weekend of family fun in the sun.

This coming weekend I will be offering free film making workshops on the end of Southend Pier.  The ‘Offshore’ event will provide a host of interactive arts activities for families to enjoy.  Better still, it will all completely free for pier visitors.

Offshore is a lottery-funded arts event run by theatre company Pinpoint Create.  It is set take place inside the pier’s stunning new cultural centre.

On Friday, I will be working with four groups of school students, who will be given the chance to use my professional equipment to film ambient shots of the pier.  On Saturday and Sunday, it will be the turn of the general public, who will be able to film their own unique content for the video.

To mark the end of this unique three-day event, the finished video will be made available for viewing on the web.  This entirely unique and no-doubt quirky piece, will be shot entirely by the public under my guidance so it’s all very exciting!

Previously, my freelance work within the education sector has included projects for the Royal Opera House Creative Partnerships, Ormiston Park Academy, Leigh North Street Juniors, De La Salle Primary, Theatre Is, V-One.tv (Thurrock Council), South Ockendon Community Forum and Pioneer School.

As part of my involvement with the Offshore project, I was also commissioned to design the official logo for use in local publicity and event banners.
