Extensive Media and Production Experience > >

With over two decades of combined experience in media and advertising, production freelancing and independent film-making, business founder, Paul Carpenter has produced work for many well-known brands and projects including ITV, Community Channel, Royal Opera House and many more.  His films have broadcast on national TV and have been widely distributed through Web TV, online video services and disc media sales.

As an freelance independent professional film-maker and digital media producer, Paul produces news segments, web films, broadcast documentaries, short films, educational films, community arts films, music videos, promotional videos, corporate and event films and a range of other creative production work.  He has advanced skills and experience using Adobe production software including Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Audition and Photoshop.

Paul believes that authentic connections to the subject manner are the key to producing excellent work.  “When I first decided to start my own video production business, my aim was to produce informative and entertaining stories with consistently strong narrative, creativity and technical finesse.  I have always aimed to produce work to full broadcast standard, regardless of the project budget.  I treat my profession as the creative outlet it is.  I think it’s a great privilege to be able to make a living out of a skill I enjoy and that comes very naturally to me, and if at any point a job feels like simple videography, I know something is wrong.  I believe every production should be approached from a creative angle and everything I make should have intrinsic value.”

Since Paul Carpenter Films, formerly Alchemy Productions, was launched in 2002, Paul’s filmmaking commissions have also led him to work extensively with students, communities and individuals with special needs and learning disabilities.  As part of nationwide creative projects managed by the Royal Opera House and Arts Council England, Paul has devised and delivered practical filmmaking tuition and interactive sessions leading to group production film projects. Other clients in this field include ROH Bridge, Aspirational Arts Partnership Ltd, Ormiston Park Academy, DeLaSalle School, South Ockendon Community Forum,Theatre Is, Leigh North Street School, Pioneer School, Thurrock Council (, Pinpoint and Thurrock’s Next Top Boss.

The appeal of linking creative and technical disciplines has captured Paul’s imagination from childhood.  “I’m fortunate to be able to combine my passions.  My productions, and  my creative ideas in general, are almost always inspired by unique combinations of music, imagery, emotion and ambience.”

Paul also believes that open, honest and loyal business relationships play an important part in the production process.  “I have sacrificed just about everything in order to continually fund my learning as an independent freelance filmmaker and digital creative.  I am really proud though, that I am able to make a living producing work that I genuinely care about.”

Combining a dedicated and creative approach with one-to-one client collaboration, specialist technical expertise, high end equipment and a commitment to surpass expectations, Paul aims to produce consistently effective; work both on time and on budget.
